Miro Heiskanen is key to the Dallas Stars success, but now the star blue liner is set to miss his second straight game for personal reasons.
The Dallas Stars have slowed down as of late, but given their star studded roster, it's no surprise that they're one of the top teams in the Central Division, once again solidifying themselves as a top Stanley Cup contender.
Ahead of the trade deadline, the Stars are set to be aggressive in pursuing upgrades, but as of right now, they're relying on the star power and depth they've got as they have posted a 27-11-9 record through their first 47 games of the 2025/26 campaign.
Miro Heiskanen's absence extended
One player that is key to that success, as we saw without him in the post-season a year ago is Miro Heiskanen, who has been at his best again this season, putting up a +9 differential and 36 points in 46 games played.
However, he's already missed a game due to personal reasons, and now, according to reports, he's set to miss the Stars next game as well, with very few details given as to what is happening behind the scenes to cause this.
As a result, he won't be in the Stars lineup on Thursday when they take on the Utah Mammoth in the final game of a lengthy nine-day road trip that saw him miss their Tuesday night encounter with the Anaheim Ducks as well.
Ultimately, for the Stars to succeed in 2025/26, they need Heiskanen in the lineup at 100%, so whatever matter it is that's keeping him out of the lineup, the Stars and their fans will be hoping that he's back in the lineup once again in the very near future.
