Patrik Laine rumored to be heading to Eastern Conference contender
Trade rumors surrounding Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine have been really heating up lately, with the latest one seeing him sent to a contender.
Up until the last few days, it appeared that initially, the Montreal Canadiens were in best position to trade for Laine after he requested a trade, however, the latest development now sees him heading to a Stanley Cup contender, the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes already have a good group of Finnish players on their team, so Laine would fit right in. Adding Laine would really help get the wingers on the team going and Laine would be able to benefit playing with better players too, compared to what he was dealing with on a bottom feeding Columbus team.
Hurricanes to do list:
Sign Jarvis to long-term deal
Sign Necas to decent/long-term deal (or trade for Ehlers)
Pursue Laine trade (possibly a package that includes Jesperi Kotkaniemi)
#Canes #CauseChaos Laine is currently in the NHL's Player Assistance Program, which forbids him from talking to any teams. Once he is out, which his GM has confirmed will be any day or week, expect trade talks to really heat up, with a move coming shortly after that.
