Cameras caught Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri wearing a sweater that didn't have the IMA Financial Group patch, and they could be in trouble with the NHL.

Even though traditionalist hockey fans completely loathe it, almost every NHL team has a sweater patch of a local business group.
That, in addition to helmet sponsorships, has introduced a new era of advertising and revenue money in the League.
During last night's game between the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers at Ball Arena, forward Nazem Kadri, who was recently brought back last week from the Calgary Flames, was seen on the bench without the IMA Financial Group sweater patch.
Kadri was later seen on the ice with a sweater that had the patch on it, but there's a chance the Avalanche could get a reminder from the NHL, or worse, some kickback from their sponsor.
The rules are cut and dry; the sponsor patch must be on the jersey every game.

Nazem Kadri Was Brought Back To The Avalanche From The Flames

Last week, Nazem Kadri was re-acquired by the Avalanche from the Calgary Flames.
It brought him back to the organization that he won a Stanley Cup with in 2022, and he scored several huge goals for the team during that run.
Kadri expressed his outright excitement and said that he was "over the moon" to return to the Avalanche, but also was sure to say that he'll remain a fan of the Flames despite not playing for them anymore.
For them to take care of a veteran player and put him where he wants to go and have that conversation and put in that work, I feel like that's a bit of a lost art in the executive positions these days. I'm a fan of theirs for life. - Nazem Kadri

So far this year, Kadri has 42 points (12G, 30A) between the Flames and Avalanche in 63 games.
