Rasmus Andersson was dealt to Vegas this past week, but according to Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins had a massive package ready to deal to Calgary.

Following weeks, months and potentially over a year of speculation, the Calgary Flames officially made the move over the weekend, dealing defenseman Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights in a blockbuster deal.
In return, the Flames landed a first-round pick, Zach Whitecloud, a solid prospect and a conditional second that could end up becoming a first, but the Golden Knights were not the only team in on Andersson.

Friedman reveals the price Boston were willing to pay for Andersson

Leading into the day that the deal was made, the belief was that the Boston Bruins were a genuine contender to land Andersson, but at the end of the day, they would only make a deal with an extension, something that No. 4 didn't want to agree to.
Now, Elliotte Friedman has given clarity to that speculation, revealing what the Bruins were officially offering Calgary in a deal, noting that 25-year old Mason Lohrei was on the table alongside a 2027 first-round pick.
Boston, the belief is it was Mason Lohrei and a 2027 1st, I think, and maybe more. - Friedman
The original belief was that this deal would involve one of Boston's 2026 first-round picks, but perhaps most shocking is the team being willing to deal Lohrei, who has posted 6 goals and 21 points in 44 games this season as he appears to be on pace for a career year.
Ultimately though, the Bruins would only make a deal with an extension signed, and that never happened, so Andersson was dealt to Vegas while the Bruins continue to look for an upgrade on the right side of their blue line.
