Dustin Wolf started his NHL career hot in 2024/25, and now he's been handed a long-term extension as the future of the Calgary Flames.

The Calgary Flames had a very promising 2024/25 campaign, with the team finishing tied for the final Stanley Cup Playoffs spot in the Western Conference despite low expectations heading into the year.
The biggest reason for that success is goaltender Dustin Wolf, who came second in the Calder Trophy voting after an incredible rookie campaign, and now, he's set to stay in Calgary long-term.

Dustin Wolf Set to Be in Calgary Until 2034 on Big-Money New Deal

After weeks of speculation and Wolf revealing that he wants to sign long-term in Calgary, the team made it official on Tuesday, revealing that the 24-year old has signed a seven-year, $7.75 million AAV deal that begins after the 2026/27 campaign.
While some commenters on social media see this as an overpay, given the potential that Wolf has shown in 71 NHL games, posting a 2.73 GAA and a .906 save percentage in that time, the team are betting on his enormous upside and immense popularity in Calgary.
Before making it to the NHL, Wolf won Goaltender of the Year in the WHL and the AHL for four straight seasons between 2019 and 2023, and in his rookie campaign a year ago, he showed exactly why that can translate to the next level.
With Matt Coronato, Mackenzie Weegar and others now locked in long-term, the Flames are building the foundations of their future team, and with Wolf on the back end, things are looking up in Calgary as they look to build around their young core.
