Elliotte Friedman Reports That Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin are Both on the Verge of Leaving Buffalo

NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman is reporting that thanks to the constant losing by the Sabres, a pair of their star players are close to asking out.
The Buffalo Sabres own the NHL's longest streak of not having made the playoffs at 14 years and counting, and by most projections, they
aren't expected to make it this year either.
They last made the playoffs in 2011, a heartbreaking 7 game series loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
So far this year, the Sabres are winless in their opening 2 games, including managing a single shot on goal in the 1st period of their loss to the Boston Bruins.
Per a report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, the Sabres are in danger of losing one or both of their star players in forward
Tage Thompson and defenseman and captain
Rasmus Dahlin if things don't improve.
Elliotte Friedman: Re Sabres: We basically know that two of their franchise players, Dahlin and Thompson, have indicated that it has to get better this year; the Sabres don't have a long runway for this - 32 Thoughts (10/13)
So far, neither player has a single point and each carry a -3 rating.
The Sabres Haven't Made the Playoffs in Nearly Fifteen Years
It's downright embarrassing for the Sabres right now, who haven't made the playoffs since 2011 and by most indications, that streak will extend into a 15th year.
Team owner Terry Pegula, who also owns the successful Buffalo Bills of the NFL, has been heavily criticised by Sabres fans for being too hands-on, and it's impossible to ignore the futility they've experienced since he bought the team.
Both Thompson and Dahlin are high level NHL talents, and if things in Buffalo don't improve soon, they could choose to take their talents elsewhere and join teams that aren't known for perpetual losing.
