Two Canadian teams emerge as contenders for Jake DeBrusk per insider
Jake DeBrusk led the Boston Bruins in scoring during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs and it looks like he will be entering free agency where he is linked to many teams.
Jake DeBrusk has consistently been a middle six presence throughout his NHL career which he has spent entirely with the Boston Bruins. Now it looks as if DeBrusk will be hitting the open market and there are many contenders for him.
With the Flames, Oilers, and Hurricanes all having an interest in DeBrusk, he will likely be one of the most highly-coveted free agents on the market.
He is coming off a 19-goal 40-point campaign with the Bruins after scoring a career-high 27 goals and 50 points in 2022-23. He is seen as a solid second-line player on any contender and could be a first-liner on worse teams.
We will now wait and see if Edmonton, Calgary, or Carolina lands DeBrusk this offseason or if he will stay with the Bruins or if he will decide to sign elsewhere.
