The Boston Bruins have been up-and-down in 2025/26, and after a tough loss to the Senators, Jeremy Swayman sent a brutal message to his team.

After being on the verge of a deep post-season run, the Boston Bruins blew up their roster in 2024/25, with the team seemingly re-setting as they look to add some younger talent to this lineup.
What that unfortunately means is that despite having some elite players leading them, things might be a bit tough in 2025/26, and we saw that on Monday night as they fell 7-2 at the hands of the Ottawa Senators.

Jeremy Swayman Delivers A Harsh Message To His Team After Massive Loss

During NESN's post-game coverage, Swayman made it clear that this isn't who the Bruins are, noting that this is a one-off and he believes this team can be a tough team to face this season.
It is not who we are, and I think that is the message we really want to send to each other. This is a one-off. It is not who we are, and we have to move forward. We have a game tomorrow and that's what we're going to focus on.

Thankfully for the Bruins, as Swayman mentions, they have a game again on Tuesday with all 32 teams in action during the Frozen Frenzy, meaning that they have an opportunity to bounce back quickly, with the star goaltender making it clear to his team that performances like this won't be acceptable any longer.
Only time will tell if the Bruins can turn it around or whether or not they need to invest in a longer rebuild, but with the play of David Pastrnak and the comments from Swayman, it's clear that the players believe this team can be competitive.
