Boston Bruins confirm Brad Marchand's game 4 status
The Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed the status of Brad Marchand ahead of the fourth game against the Florida Panthers.
Marchand was forced to leave the third game against the Panthers, visibly injured from a dirty play by Sam Bennett in the first period of the game.
If you missed it, here's a video of the play:
From another angle, we can see that Bennett sucker punched the Bruins' captain during the collision:
"Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand is out for Game 4 after getting sucker punched by Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers in Game 3. What is the NHL doing about this? Nothing? But they care about safety?"
Yesterday, Marchand wasn't on the ice with his teammates for the practice session, and it was confirmed that he was considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury:
Jim Montgomery provided an update on Brad Marchand: "He's upper body, day to day."
In an update, the coach revealed that Marchand won't take part in tonight's game as the Bruins look to tie the series before returning to Florida for game 5.
"Per Montgomery, #NHLBruins Brad Marchand is out tonight."
Boston has a big challenge ahead of them. Much like last season, the Panthers look like they're focused on reaching the Stanley Cup Finals and they play like nothing seems to stand in their way.
Do you think the Florida Panthers will eliminate the Boston Bruins in five games?
