Former Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban drew backlash online with his immediate comments after Team USA beat Team Canada for the gold medal in the Milan Olympics.

Team USA broke the hearts of Canadian hockey fans everywhere today when they won the gold medal, an exciting 2-1 OT win over Team Canada in the Milan Olympics.
Jack Hughes matched Team Canada captain Sidney Crosby, who wasn’t able to play because of an injury, in Olympic history with a gold medal-winning OT goal.
But former Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban, who also played internationally for Canada, drew backlash for his online comments immediately after the Team USA win.

THANKS FOR COMIN, CONGRATS USA

- P.K. Subban
More than a few people were not happy to see that comment from Subban, who they felt should have been supporting his native Canada.
Subban has never been shy about speaking his mind, on the ice or in media, and he will likely face more scrutiny if he doubles down.

Team USA Won Gold For The First Time Since 1980

Thanks to their historic gold medal win, Team USA has won the gold medal for the first time since 1980.
That was the year that the young United States team, led by legendary coach Herb Brooks, defeated the heavily favoured Soviet Union.
They then beat Team Finland in the gold medal game for what would be their last gold medal until today.
