The QMJHL community is suffering another heartbreak after the news broke that former Gatineau Olympiques goaltender Creed Jones has passed away in a tragic accident at only 24 years old.
Though he spent half of his 6-year QMJHL career elsewhere, Creed Jones was a major part of the Gatineau Olympiques team in the late 2010s. Between 2017 and 2020, he played 64 games with an average save percentage of 0.895. Jones also played two seasons with the Rimouski Oceanic and one with the Saint John Sea Dogs before appearing in four games with the University of Ottawa during their 2021-2022 season.
However, the hockey world was shocked after reports announced his sudden passing earlier today. Only two years after his last competitive game, the Gatineau Olympiques organization posted the news, offering their thoughts to his family and friends.
"It is with great sadness that the Gatineau Olympiques organization has learned of the passing of one of our alumni, Creed Jones. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. 💔"
