REPORT: TWO contending teams favoured to TRADE for Jonathan Toews

It's been an interesting time in Chicago this past offseason and to start this season. Long gone are the days of the 3 cups in 6 years, it's been 7 years since their last cup in fact.

At the trade deadline last season, the newly appointed General Manager Kyle Davidson stated that the team will be entering a rebuild, so all of us fans started to wonder what is going to happen with superstar Patrick Kane who is still producing at an elite level, and captain Jonathan Toews who was coming off a very down season.

Toews missed all of the 2020-21 season with an undisclosed injury, but he made a comeback last season with the Blackhawks. After missing an entire season, he was definitely a step behind last year and his stats showed that. Toews finished the year with 12 goals and 37 points in 71 games.

While he isn't a spring chicken anymore, at the age of 34, Toews can definitely provide more of an offensive season than he had last year and is still very valuable defensively. So far this season he has preformed very well, despite being at the bottom of the standings.

NHL Insiders Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek believe that if he is going to be traded, it will be to either of these two teams:

Toews has a full no trade clause and can of course choose if he wants to leave Chicago or not, but he has expressed already on multiple occasions that he is not interested in being part of a rebuild.
