Buffalo Sabres trade second-round pick to Washington Capitals for player
The Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals have brokered the first trade of day two of the NHL draft with the Sabres sending a second round pick to Washington in exchange for Beck Malenstyn.
The Buffalo Sabres have just acquired defensive specialist Beck Malenstyn from the Washington Capitals.

We will now see who the Capitals select with that pick in the coming hour. Malenstyn played primarily on the Capitals' fourth line last year but did so by producing excellent underlying defensive metrics. The Sabres are likely making this move to solidify their bottom six with a penalty killer.
