One proposed Larkin trade sends Pavel Zacha, Mason Lohrei and picks to Detroit, but the suspended Red Wings center has not approved a move to Boston.
A Larkin deal to Boston is getting louder, and a new proposal lays out a pretty clean version of it.
Detroit would get center Pavel Zacha, defenseman Mason Lohrei and draft picks, while the Bruins would get Dylan Larkin.
There is one big catch. Larkin has a full no-trade clause, and Boston is not on the list of 10 teams he has approved.
The 30-year-old told Detroit he will not play again until he is moved, and the Red Wings suspended him without pay on Oct. 29.
Why Boston keeps coming up
The Bruins have been hunting for a true top-line center, and Larkin is a 30-goal scorer who would fill that hole right away.
He carries an $8.7 million cap hit through 2030-31.
TSN reported that Boston wants onto his list, and general manager Don Sweeney has already called Detroit.
Detroit wants a return that helps now, not just a pile of futures, and interim GM Shawn Horcoff has said he will wait as long as it takes to find the right one.
What Detroit would get
Zacha is on a $4.75 million deal in the final year of his contract, and he put up 30 goals and 65 points in 78 games last season.
Lohrei is a 25-year-old left-shot defenseman on a $3.2 million cap hit who becomes a restricted free agent in 2027.
Both have been popular names in Bruins trade chatter for months.
On paper the framework gives each side something, but it all comes down to Larkin.
Until he adds Boston to his list, this stays a pitch and nothing more, and the Bruins will have to keep waiting.
