This afternoon, the Boston Bruins have agreed to a trade shipping out former first-round pick Fabian Lysell to the Colorado Avalanche.

With the NHL Draft coming to a close and free agency on the horizon, an interesting trade has just gone down between the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche.
The Avalanche have announced they will acquire forward Fabian Lysell in exchange for Ivan Ivan.
Both young players will now get a much needed change of scenery especially for Lysell who struggled mightily to crack the Bruins lineup.
What looks like an ordinary trade on the surface could shake things up for both NHL teams lineups more than it appears just off of the names involved alone.

Former first rounder Fabian Lysell gets a fresh start after trade to Colorado

Lysell, 23, has spent most of his professional career in the AHL with Providence and been a standout scoring forward at that level.
He has struggled in the NHL in part due to the fact that the Bruins refused to put him in their top-six when they would call him up.
As for Ivan Ivan, he has seen mostly depth minutes both in the AHL and the NHL when given opportunities but could blossom as an impactful two-way forward in the Bruins system.
Hopefully, with this new opportunity, both will see meaningful minutes in the top-six as they look to get their career back on track.
