Per a report from NHL trade analyst Rob Ellis, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy is on the trade block and there are two teams he could go to.

Unless there's a miracle of historic proportions, the Chicago Blackhawks will once again miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs; they haven't qualified since 2020 when legends Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and Corey Crawford all still wore the Blackhawks sweater.
It's a new era of Blackhawks hockey led by Connor Bedard, the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, after Chicago won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery in controversial fashion.
There are a handful of Blackhawks players reportedly up for grabs at the upcoming trade deadline, with veteran defenseman Connor Murphy among them.
Per NHL trade analyst Rob Ellis, Murphy is the ideal candidate to be moved away from Chicago.
The loudest rumors currently surround stalwart defenseman Connor Murphy, who has emerged as a primary target for both the Dallas Stars and the Boston Bruins. With the March 6, 2026, Trade Deadline fast approaching, Murphy’s departure from Chicago seems less like a possibility and more like an inevitability. The 32-year-old right-shot defenseman (RHD) is in the final year of his contract, carrying a manageable $4.4 million cap hit. For teams looking to fortify their blue line for a grueling playoff run, Murphy offers the perfect blend of size (6’4″, 212 lbs), experience, and defensive responsibility. - Rob Ellis

Ellis then names both the Boston Bruins and the Dallas Stars as the alleged frontrunners that could trade for Murphy.

Connor Murphy Could Be Moved From The Blackhawks

Murphy was taken with the 20th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, where he would play until 2017 when he was traded with Laurent Dauphin to Chicago for Niklas Hjalmarsson.
Murphy has played in 802 career NHL games with the Coyotes and Blackhawks and has 172 points (47G, 125A).
