This afternoon a new report from Darren Dreger has confirmed that veteran star Vincent Trocheck has turned down a trade to the Montreal Canadiens.
After once again missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the New York Rangers are looking to shake up their roster and veteran forward Vincent Trocheck has been the main target from other teams.
As a result, Trocheck has been linked to several teams around the league including the Montreal Canadiens who are looking to build upon their successful Eastern Conference Finals run.
However, a new report from NHL insider Darren Dreger has shut down any chance of the Canadiens landing Trocheck.
Vincent Trocheck turns down trade to the Montreal Canadiens per insider report
In his report, Dreger confirms that the Canadiens have reached out to the Rangers regarding a Trocheck trade but were informed they are on his no-trade list.
Darren Dreger: Re Canadiens: They've more or less kicked tires on Vinny Trocheck; I believe Montreal's on his no-fly zone, I think that there's some flexibility from Trocheck's perspective
Trocheck, 32, put up 53 points in 67 games as one of the leaders for the Rangers and was a key depth player on the gold medal winning USA Olympic team as well.
Now, the Rangers will have to search again for a willing trade partner to try and move Trocheck to a new home.
The continued negotiations will likely continue over the next couple of months as teams fill their needs through free agency first.
As more information is provided on Trocheck's future in New York and beyond we will pass along the latest details.
