Back in 2012, the San Jose Sharks drafted forward Chris Tierney with the No. 55 overall draft pick, and while he would go on to play four seasons with the team, he never quite lived up to the expectations of a second-round draft pick. Following that, he would go on to play with Ottawa, Florida, Montreal and most recently New Jersey, playing in 649 games and tallying 248 points, but now his NHL career is on hold.
According to an official press release from the KHL's Belarusian team Dynamo Minsk, Tierney will be joining the team immediately on a one-year deal as he looks to resurrect his hockey career.
At 30-years of age, Tierney still has plenty of time to revive his career and get back to the NHL, but for now, things aren't looking great for the veteran who has managed just seven goals in 88 games over the past two seasons. At 6-foot-1 with plenty of skill and experience, Tierney can still get it done on the ice however, and with some Canadians at Dynamo Minsk, the opportunities will be there, so keep an eye on Tierney as he looks to get his career back on track with one of the KHL's most intriguing teams.
