Evander Kane reveals receipts after Christina Marleau says Patrick ‘had a strong disgust' for him

Evander Kane is not letting a recent claim about his time in San Jose go unanswered, and he's got receipts to back it up.

The pushback comes after Christina Marleau, wife of Sharks legend Patrick Marleau, reportedly said her husband had an incredibly "strong disgust" for Kane during their overlapping seasons with the team.

Her comments surfaced through a post shared by former NHLer Kurtis Gabriel, who has been airing his own grievances about Kane's time in the Sharks locker room.

Kane wasn't willing to let that description stand without a rebuttal.

He shared a screenshot of a years old text exchange in which Patrick reached out asking for help with his son's school project, specifically involving questions for a diversity focused interview.

Kane says he happily helped out, and the messages show Patrick thanking him warmly afterward for taking the time.

On X, Kane wrote that it's an interesting way to describe someone who had no problem reaching out to him when he needed help.

He suggested that either the disgust Christina described conveniently disappears whenever he's useful, or the story being told simply does not match what actually happened between the two families.

The timing is notable too, since this exchange comes amid a wave of former teammates speaking publicly about Kane's tenure in San Jose, with Gabriel's comments reigniting old tension around Kane's exit from the organization.

Neither Patrick nor Christina Marleau has responded publicly to Kane's post as of now.

Marleau is widely regarded as one of the most respected and even keeled veterans in franchise history, which has made the alleged intensity of the claim stand out even more to fans following the story closely.
