Since it was announced that Carter Hart will be allowed to resume his NHL career this season, rumors have swirled like never before as to where the young netminder might land. While Hart has plenty of time to make his decision, teams have already begun reaching out to acquire his services.

With stable goaltending a rarity in today's NHL, it's no surprise that teams are fighting tooth and nail to make Carter Hart their own.

Metro Divison or Bust?

Perhaps the most interest in Carter Hart at the moment is coming from the Metro Divison, as David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports that the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes have all reached out to Hart in the hopes of acquiring his services.
Goalie Carter Hart has generated the most interest, with the Philadelphia Flyers, Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins among the clubs that have reached out. I expect a short-term deal for the 27-year-old. - David Pagnotta
Opportunity a Key Factor For Hart
It's been reported multiple times now that Hart would like to play for an American-based contender with a clear path to a healthy number of starts. Taking a look at the goaltending situation for the three teams intereste should give us a clearer idea of who the frontrunner will be.
Pittsburgh's goaltending room is looking rather full at the moment, with Tristian Jarry and newcomer Arturs Silovs between the pipes. Carolina has a tandem of Frederick Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov in their locker room, but they've never been shy to make a move if they believe it'll benefit their team in the long-term.
Lastly, that brings us to Philadelphia, the team who drafted Hart, and the only NHL club he's ever played for. The crease in Philly is currently no mans land, with Samuel Ersson, Dan Vladar, and Ivan Fedotov all vying for starts. While the team believes in each goalie to varying extents, none are as proven or have the track record of Carter Hart.
Should Hart sign with one of these teams, it looks like his former home, Philadelphia, would make the most sense. Could we see a reunion between Hart and the Flyers soon?
