Famous NHL player agent Allan Walsh revealed a major piece of news regarding further expansion in the league today.

Talks of expansion have been getting louder in recent years thanks to the successes of the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken.
Even places like New Orleans have been linked to the league as recently as this season.
Vegas has already won a Stanley Cup despite being in the league for just seven seasons prior to this one.
The team even made the Cup finals in their historic run the very first year they entered the league.
Seattle has not had quite that level of success yet but the organization still has a promising young core including players like Matty Beniers and Shane Wright.
Now it appears as though we will be getting at least two new teams at some point over the next few years.
ESPN reporter Emily Kaplan revealed today that the league has been in communication with American billionaire Dan Friedkin, who has expressed interest in bringing a team to Houston.
"American billionaire Dan Friedkin has emerged as a strong ownership option to bring the NHL to Houston, sources told ESPN.

Attempts to reach The Friedkin Group for comment were unsuccessful, but NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed in an email that the league has met with the group 'on a number of occasions about potential interest in a Houston expansion franchise.'"
Following this report, NHL player agent Allan Walsh dropped more news on this front, not only confirming the expansion plans for Houston, but also adding that Atlanta will be getting yet another team.
He also added that both teams will be joining the league on expansion fees of 1.5 billion dollars each, much more than what either Vegas or Seattle paid.
Will the NHL stop there? If they go to 34 teams, why wouldn't they consider 36 or 40?
What other cities could be in consideration? Kansas City, Quebec City, and Phoenix are just a few cities that have rumored interest.
Regardless of what city gets a team next, it certainly appears as though this is the direction the league is taking, making the future of the NHL very exciting indeed.
