Brendan Gallagher Makes Emotional Comments After the Passing of His Beloved Mother Della

Brendan Gallagher suffered a tough loss this past week, and now he's opened up with an emotional, heartfelt statement on Thursday.
The Montreal Canadiens are in the midst of an impressive run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, but as we've now learned, they've been doing so despite one of their key players suffering a major loss.
Recently, it was announced that veteran Brendan Gallagher lost his mother Della in tragic circumstances, and in their latest win over the Ottawa Senators, he sealed the game with an empty net goal, pounding his heart and paying tribute to her with the celebration.
Now, he's released a very emotional statement about his mother, noting how strong she was and how tough this past week has been for the 32-year old.
«It's been a heavy week. Obviously my mom has been fighting class 4 brain cancer for 3 & a half years. It was in August (2021), shortly after we made the Finals, we got a diagnosis of her condition. The family was kinda fighting for many years there.»

I'm really proud of her fight. I'm really proud of everything she did for us. She was so strong, so courageous, you know really just the best mom.
