The Stanley Cup Playoffs are just a matter of days away from starting, and now it's been revealed when we will see both conferences begin play as the most exciting part of the sports calendar for hockey fans is officially upon us.
After what has been a stellar 2024/25 season for the NHL, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are almost upon us, and while a few teams are yet to clinch their spot, we can start to put together some very intriguing round one matchups.
Now, we officially know when things will be starting thanks to Ottawa Senators reporter Graeme Nichols, who reveals when we will see the post-season kick off for teams in both leagues.
According to the report, we will see the Western Conference playoffs kick off on Saturday, while the Eastern Conference will begin a day later, with so many intriguing round one matchups set to take place.
While there are still some teams to be locked in, as of right now we could be looking at the Battle of Ontario and the Battle of Florida in the East, while the Western Conference may begin with the best playoff series possible between the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars.
Ultimately, this may be one of the most wide open fields in recent memory, and while the likes of Colorado, Florida and Tampa Bay could feasibly be seen as favourites at this point in time, when a series gets going absolutely anything could happen, so fans will need to strap themselves in for what could be one of the most exciting post-seasons in recent memory.
