"A couple other guys were sick, but they played -- almost because we had to. (It's) going through the room, a little bit," Cassidy explained. "Hopefully we get back home, get away from the rink, guys could take care of that, get some rest and be good to go Thursday."
Despite the injuries, Vegas did clinch home ice advantage in round one
Despite the depleted roster, Vegas picked up a point in the standings and earned home-ice advantage for the opening round of the playoffs.
The Golden Knights remain atop the Pacific Division, six points clear of the Los Angeles Kings as the regular season nears completion. Some positive news on the injury front emerged as Vegas edges closer to full strength.
Forward Tomas Hertl resumed practice following an upper-body injury, and backup goaltender Ilya Samsonov began skating with the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights.
Samsonov has not seen action with the Golden Knights since March 23 but might be getting ready to return. Eichel, slumping, hasn't scored a point in four games.
