The Seattle Kraken is reportedly considering to promote Jessica Campbell, currently working in the AHL, as their full-time NHL assistant-coach.

The Kraken's new head coach Dan Bylsma, officially promoted on Tuesday morning, couldn't have been clearer in his press conference about his intentions to bring his colleague Jessica Campbell with him from the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

While it hasn't been confirmed that she'd be hired, Chris Johnston revealed on X that she'll be at least considered for the job.

"New #SeaKraken head coach Dan Bylsma tells reporters in Seattle that Jessica Campbell will be considered for a job on his coaching staff.

There's never been a full-time female assistant coach in the NHL before."

During the last training camp, she and Kori Cheverie were the first women to be behind the bench of a pre-season game. However, Campbell could become the first woman to get a full-time job in the NHL.

Bylsma and Campbell are currently focusing on the Firebirds' preparation for their first game against the Milwaukee Admirals in the Western Conference Finals, set for Wednesday, in Palm Springs.
