Johnny Gaudreau was tragically taken from the world in 2024, but on Monday it was announced that his third child with Meredith was officially born.
The passing of Johnny Gaudreau in 2024 was a tragedy that rocked the entire NHL and the sporting world, and while it's tough to find any silver lining from the entire situation, it was announced shortly after that his partner Meredith was pregnant with their third child.
On Monday, the incredibly strong widow of the former Blue Jackets and Flames star announced incredible news, revealing that their third child was born on April 1st, a fully healthy newborn with everyone doing well after the fact.
In a recent social media post, Meredith announced the birth of Carter Michael Gaudreau, with the added touch that the healthy newborn will share the same middle name as his late father.
While it was an incredibly tough moment for the hockey world, Johnny leaving behind two and now three children must have made this nightmare even harder to deal with for his partner, who has shown incredible strength over the past few months, and continues to do so at every turn.
Things will likely never be easy for Meredith after the passing of her beloved partner, but now, they have three incredible young children, and with the honouring of Johnny through Carter's name, they'll be out to make their dad proud.
We take this time to send our congratulations to Meredith, the Gaudreau family and anyone that is close to the family, as they continue to honour Johnny with their incredible strength, and with three beautiful children left behind, their strength will be passed on.
