Massive Scrum Emerges in Stanley Cup Finals Rematch Between the Oilers and the Panthers
A massive scrum emerged last night in a Stanley Cup Finals rematch between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers.
Last night marked the first time that the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers met on the ice since the Panthers won the Stanley Cup against the Oilers in Florida after winning the Finals in seven games.
As we expected, fans at the arena got to watch a great show, ultimately won by the Panthers 6-5, following yet another difficult performance from the Oilers goaltender
Stuart Skinner.
The goalie only managed to stop 22 of the 28 shots fired at him, which is good for a .786 save percentage.
Players came to the rink ready to compete hard to win, even those who weren't a part of the Finals last season.
Podkolzin got up and didn't waste time before dropping his gloves as a massive scrum emerged.
Of course, these two players weren't with the Panthers and the Oilers in the Finals, but they knew they still had to bring intensity to win yesterday.
Greer, 28, signed a two-year contract with the Panthers this summer. This season, he scored three goals and five assists in 32 games.
As for Podkolzin, he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in August from the Vancouver Canucks. The winger scored 11 points, including three goals in 31 games this season in Edmonton. He also notably has a +6 rating.
The Oilers and the Panthers are set to meet again on the ice this season. The game will be on February 27th, in Florida.
