The New York Rangers have struggled mightily in recent times, and now Elliotte Friedman has buried them, revealing the biggest flaw of this current team.
After a fast start to what was expected to be a Stanley Cup contending season, things have completely fallen apart for the New York Rangers, as they now find themselves out of a Stanley Cup Playoffs position leading into the holidays.
The team is just 3-10-0 in their last 13 games, and even after trading Jacob Trouba, things appear to be getting worse and worse by the night.
To follow that up this past weekend, the team was humiliated by the Los Angeles Kings, with three goals in quick succession leading to Igor Shesterkin being pulled from the game, before the crowd at Madison Square Garden send them home by pouring down boos on the team after the 5-1 defeat.
They followed that up with a loss to the St. Louis Blues, who got up on them 3-0 after the first two periods, with Insider Elliotte Friedman revealing that these starts are the biggest issue for the team right now.
So you know, they've really put themselves in an incredible hole. I don't think anybody saw this coming. And then again, on Sunday night, it's just unbelievable how they start games right now.
They start games stunned. 5-0 to the Kings, 25 minutes and at home, And 3-0 to the Blues, Sunday night. You're always trying to climb out of a deep hole like it's an impossible way to play.
There are many issues with this current team, and while they have elite goaltending and some experienced stars, it's just not clicking right now, so with Friedman laying their problems bare, we will now see if the team can make a move to spark a run as this has been an absolute disaster of a season thus far.
