Tonight, a new report from NHL analyst Tyler Yaremchuk has connected the Edmonton Oilers interest in potentially acquiring star forward Drake Batherson from the Ottawa Senators.
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off of a massively disappointing season that ended in a first-round exit in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Anaheim Ducks.
The loss shook the organization and led to major changes behind the bench as Kris Knoblauch was replaced by Mike Babcock.
Now, a new report has speculated that change could be coming on the ice as well as the Edmonton Oilers could have potential interest in Senators star goal scorer Drake Batherson.

In a recent segment of OilersNation Everday, NHL analyst Tyler Yaremchuk suggested that if the Senators get off to a bad start this season Batherson could be looking for a change of scenery.
If that ends up being the case, Yaremchuk believes the Oilers should be at the front of the line to land him.
If the Senators are going to be worse than everyone expects this year and are unable to re-sign Batherson then giddy up. That's the guy for the Edmonton Oilers if the Senators end up selling add him to the list.
While this remains a hypothetical move for now, Batherson would be a great fit for the Oilers especially alongside Connor McDavid.
In the past, McDavid has thrived with goal scoring wingers who play well along the wall and in dirty areas.
This description fits Batherson well as he eclipsed 30 goals this past season in Ottawa and has been a consistent 20 goal scorer the last several years before that.
Additionally, Batherson is 6'3 and over 200 pounds bringing the perfect size, speed, and skill combo that the Oilers are looking for.
Batherson is in the final year of his current contract with the Senators and reportedly far apart on an extension making a trade involving him much more likely.
Now, GM Stan Bowman and the Oilers just have to hope the Senators struggle to begin the year making Batherson available on the trade market.
As more information is provided on Batherson's future in Ottawa and beyond we will pass all of those latest details along to you.
