A tragic car accident has sadly claimed the lives of three Alberta NHL hopefuls, who played for the Southern Alberta Mustangs Junior hockey team.

There's awful news to report that has sent the hockey world once again into mourning, as reports have confirmed a fatal car crash resulting in three fatalities of young hockey players.
The three players who lost their lives were members of the Southern Alberta Mustangs Junior hockey team, and the accident took place just south of Calgary.
The team has released the following heartbreaking statement confirming the losses:
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm three layers from the Southern Alberta Mustangs were killed in a motor vehicle accident earlier today while traveling to team practice.

There are no words that can adequately express the depth of our grief. These young men were more than hockey players - they were teammates, sons, brothers, friends, and deeply loved members of our Mustangs family and the communities we call home.

Our hearts are with the families, friends, billet families, teammates, coaches, and everyone who loved them. We ask that their families be given privacy and compassion as they navigate this devastating loss.

The Southern Alberta Mustangs organization is working closely with authorities and will continue to support our players, staff, and families in every way possible during this incredibly difficult time. Southern Alberta Mustangs
Sadly, this accident evokes memories of the horrible bus accident in 2018 involving the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.
