Wednesday night, on TNT's Face Off prior to the Flyers-Canucks game, Wayne Gretzky spoke up about the highly anticipated decision expected soon on where Patrick Kane will choose to play this season.
Kane, a nine-time all-star, is working his way back from hip surgery that he had done following the conclusion of last season. The Lightning are 6-6-4 and sitting in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 16 points.
The winger spent 16 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks before being traded to the New York Rangers last season, where he would go on to score five goals and have seven assists in 19 regular season games with the club.
Following a first-round ouster in the postseason, in which Kane scored a goal and had five assists, he elected to undergo surgery which required 4-6 months of recovery time.
A free agent, Kane, who has 451 career goals, is currently in the process of being courted by teams across the league as he is very near to a full return, and seemingly close to making a decision.
