With many focused on the NHL and the Stanley Cup Playoffs, across the entire country of Canada fans were watching the World Hockey Championships Gold Medal game between Team Canada and Team Germany.
Once again, Canada dominated and secured a gold medal, triumphing over Germany with a 5-2 victory.
Canada Wins Gold At World Championships
Canada's team had been under a barrage of criticism leading up to the tournament, with critics questioning the lack of star power. Some detractors even referred to this as the
"Worst team Canada roster ever"
However, this disparagement served to fuel the players' motivation. After winning the championship, Tyler Myers decided to respond to the critics in his own unique way.
Myers Roasts Haters
Myers posted a picture of himself kissing the IIHF Championship trophy on Twitter, captioning it:
"Worst Team Canada Roster Ever."
This response was both unexpected and powerful, demonstrating that it's not about the names on the back of the sweater, but the logo on the front. The victory underlined that you simply cannot underestimate Team Canada.
