After a disappointing elimination from the recent Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Boston Bruins have made a decision regarding one of their mid-season acquisitions.
Bertuzzi's Time In Boston Is Over
It has been revealed that GM Don Sweeney has closed the doors on negotiations with forward Tyler Bertuzzi and will be letting him leave for another team in free agency this offseason.
As reported by Matt Porter on Twitter, the reason for Bertuzzi's departure is that he has been asking for too high of a price in a new contract. With a lot of money tied into stars such as David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand, as well as the roster needing to be changed around, there is not much wiggle room to allow for Bertuzzi to receive this undisclosed asking price.
As free agency progresses, we will see if Bertuzzi fulfills his contract wants from another team or if he will have to bump down the price.
