After being drafted 22nd overall in the 2006 draft, Giroux became a full-time NHLer in the second half of the 2008-09 season. The long time Flyer has managed to put up 897 points in 993 game since joining the league, which ranks him third in career points from his draft class behind Nicklas Backstrom & Phil Kessel.
Giroux while on the wrong side of 30, is only a few years removed from a career high 102 point season. After missing the playoffs last year, the Flyers made a huge push in free agency and trades to make the team a contender this season, but unfortunately due to injuries and COVID the team has struggled, which has led to the talks about trading long time captain Claude Giroux.
With the trade deadline fast approaching, on Tuesday night Pierre LeBrun, on TSN insider Trading revealed what the Flyers are expecting in return for their captain.
