It has been quite the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the team has set record after record. This season they've recorded the most: Points, Wins, Home Wins, Away Wins and most goals scored by a single player, and the season isn't even over yet.

With this team success, has come the individual player success as well, and one player who is benefitting from the team success this season is pending UFA Ilya Mikheyev, who has set a career high in goals (20) and points (31) this season, while playing as a middle 6 contributor and getting second powerplay time.
As per Luke Fox, contract talks will begin with Mikheyev at the end of the season.

Fox adds that his open market value would likely be in between $4M-$5M but could be willing to take a discount to stay in TOR or to go to a contending team
