The OHL Suspends Four Players Following Six-Minute Long Brawl
In a crazy sequence not seen in years in the OHL, last Saturday, the Brantford Bulldogs and Peterborough Petes engaged in an all-out, old-school-style brawl.
OHL Hands Out Suspensions for Bench Clearing Brawl
The game between the Petes and the Bulldogs was already exciting, ending in overtime. However, things got really interesting after the final whistle. Both benches ended up clearing, with everyone engaging in some sort of altercation. As a result, the OHL has fined both teams, and handed out several suspensions.
After one of the wildest OHL incidents in years saw the Brantford and Peterborough benches clear and brawl after OT in their game on Saturday, the league has announced discipline.
Petes: $2,000
Konnor Smith: 4 games
Bulldogs: $1,000
Lucas Moore: 2 games
Noah Roberts: 2 games
Bulldogs defenceman Cedricson Okitundo has also been suspended for three games after he was assessed a match penalty for cross-checking in the first period of that game.
Fight Continued Well After the End of the Game
According to Wheeler, both Konnor Smith and Noah Roberts earned their suspensions for continuing the fight well after the game had ended. The two kept the brawl going for several minutes after it had died down.
It also started up several times after dying down, which included Smith and Roberts dropping the gloves a full three minutes after the game had ended and re-igniting it.
