Capitals Looking Into Trading Olympic Icon
The Washington Capitals had a disappointing season last year, to say the least. After missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade, and with Alex Ovechkin getting older by the day, things may be heading downhill for the first time in a while.
Now, they have been recently rumoured to be considering a trade for this Olympic Icon.
Capitals Rumoured to be Shopping Oshie
A lot of the Capitals' future moves will be determined by how the team is looking near the trade deadline. If it is a repeat of last season, they could be looking to offload some pending free agents in exchange for longer-term assets. One player that could be of interest, according to former NHLerColby Cohen, is T.J. Oshie.
There is a distinct possibility that a contender could show interest in TJ Oshie at the deadline.
Oshie is a Prime Candidate for Potential Frontrunner
Oshie is a perfect candidate for whoever is the potential frontrunner for the Cup at the deadline, who may be looking to add even more depth to their scoring ability. At just $5.75 million, Oshie would add to any team's middle 6, and he brings a Stanley Cup-winning pedigree.
While Oshie's production isn't what it used to be, he still makes an ideal acquisition target at the deadline.
Jacob Markstrom stops TJ Oshie on a breakaway!
