It's no doubt NHL is very popular around the world and having these NHL games played in Europe could help turn kids who have never seen or played the sport before into fans or players.
As the NHL looks to keep growing the sport and bringing more sets of eyes to the game, the NHL made a huge announcement that the League is heading to Europe.
The teams that are involved in this are the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Nashville Predators, and Columbus Blue Jackets. These four teams will start off their 2022-23 seasons for what the NHL calls the NHL's Global series.
These teams will play their pre-season games in Switzerland and Berlin Germany. As well the NHL revealed the San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators will play their first two regular season games in Prague Czechia, and the Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets will play their first two regular season games in beautiful Tampere, Finland.
That's a very smart move with NHL Stars Mikko Rantinen and Patrik Laine both from Finland, this will be huge for those players.
