The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-1 in their game. Throughout the second and third periods, the Hurricanes controlled the play. However, there was significant controversy around the game.

Tkachuk and Kotchetkov get into it in the third

Brady Tkachuk looked to be on the verge of scoring during a play late in the third period when Pyotr Kochetkov seemed to hurl his stick to intercept the puck as it drifted in the other direction. As a result, Tkachuk was given a penalty shot.
Tkachuk's penalty shot did not turn out as anticipated, as Kochetkov darted out of his crease with a double-pad stack and poke-check combination that straddled the line between risky and skillful play.
Tkachuk was flung forcefully in the air towards the boards. He was displeased when he stood up again, and as he skated back to the bench, the two exchanged heated words.

The aftermath of the shootout left Tkachuk unhappy

Tkachuk attempted to re-engage Kochetkov after the penalty shot, but the refs had to stop him. Tkachuk was escorted back to the bench.
When the referees had had enough, they issued Tkachuk a 10-minute misconduct and removed him from the game to prevent any more incidents.
After the game, Brady Tkachuk was not pleased and made that clear.
After the game, Kochetkov received support from Carolina's top centre, Sebastian Aho.
Whether you think the play was dirty or not will probably depend on whose club you support, but one thing is for sure: the two players are not fans of one another. The fact that Tkachuk was unharmed in the play is also wonderful news.
