The Capitals who have a record of 14-4-5 have been playing very well despite missing Backstrom the entire season, Oshie for 15 games (so far), Mantha for 13 games (so far) Sheary for 5 games (so far) & they just received Eller back after missing 6 games. Schultz is returning after missing the last 3.
At one point the Capitals were missing there entire 2nd line, 2/3 of the 3rd line, and at that same time they lost Dowd for 8 games. They were playing with rookies at center for lines 2,3 & 4! And despite all these injuries the Capitals are still 14-4-5!
When all the players return, this is going to be one dangerous Capitals team this season. Ovechkin is a man on a mission, Kuznetsov is playing like he was in the cup run, Wilson is making a strong case for team Canada with 23 points in 23 games, and Carlson is leading the way on the defensive end with 22 points in 23 games.
Can this Capitals team make another run at the Cup finals?
Lines for tonights game against the Hawks:
Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Protas
Sprong-Eller-Wilson
Hagelin-Dowd-Hathaway
Malenstyn-McMichael-Leason
Fehervary-Carlson
Orlov-Jensen
