For many years, even if people were not watching the hockey game, people would tune in to listen to Ron and Don do Coaches Corner. Whether you liked or even agreed with Don Cherry, everyone tuned in to listen to him.
When Don Cherry was fired for his ''You People'' comments regarding people wearing poppies, Ron MacLean did not stand up for his long time friend and co-worker, and people lost a lot of respect for him.
Yesterday Don Cherry turned 89 and while many celebrated, it began to get MacLean's name trending, and got everyone upset again and calling for him to be fired:
