The 2022 National Hockey League Entry Draft was a bit of a controversial one. The Montreal Canadiens had the first overall pick, and many thought they would be going with the projected first overall pick, Kingston Frontenacs Shane Wright, as the Habs desperately needed a second line center.
Instead the Canadiens opted to go with the big Slovakian winger Juraj Slafkovsky, who didn't exactly preform like many hoped to start his career, only scoring 4 goals and 10 points in 39 games.
Jason Bukala a writer for Sportsnet has done a re-draft for the 2022 Entry draft, and in his redraft, the order of the top 10 has changed significantly.
#1 Montreal Canadiens: Logan Cooley (originally went third)
#2 New Jersey Devils: Juraj Slafkovsky (originally went first)
#3: Arizona Coyotes: Simon Nemec (originally went second)
#4: Seattle Kraken: DAVID JIRICEK (originally went sixth)
#5: Philadelphia Flyers: CUTTER GAUTHIER (stayed the same)
#6: Columbus Blue Jackets: PAVEL MINTYUKOV (originally 10th)
#7: Chicago Blackhawks: KEVIN KORCHINSKI (stayed the same)
#8: Detroit Red Wings: MARCO KASPER (stayed the same)
#9: Buffalo Sabres: JIMMY SNUGGERUD (originally went 23rd)
#10: Anaheim: JIRI KULICH (originally went 28th) Shane Wright who ended up going fourth overall to the Seattle Kraken is no longer in his top-10! I have no issues with this list.
Bukala's details behind each selection is very well though out, and definitely deserves a read, check it out here:
