One of the hardest things in the world to do is making it as a professional athlete. Many people think it's just talent that gets these people paid, but it takes a lot more than just talent.

No one sees the behind the scenes work that takes place. The countless hours each week working out, the diets these athletes need to be on and just the strain everything has on their bodies.

So when someone does make it to the NHL, or any other professional league, it's a huge accomplishment as they've done what millions of people have not been able to.

Which makes this very difficult to see when a 24 year old who is just starting their career suffers such a significant injury.

Mason Shaw suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Saturday's game at Vegas and will miss the remainder of this season.

The Minnesota Wild announced today that Mason Shaw, has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He suffered this injury the other night against the Vegas Golden Knights. This injury is very significant as this ligament plays a pivotal role in your ability to skate.
