It was announced yesterday that Evander Kane would receive a one game suspension for his dirty hit on Nazem Kadri. While Kane will miss the possible last game for the Oilers this season, Kadri has been ruled out for the remainder of the series and could be out even longer.
NHL Insider Darren Dreger thinks that the injury may be significantly worse than the Avalanche are leading on:
Not much to update on Kadri's status. He will see doctors tomorrow to further evaluate his prognosis. Surgery is a possibility.
If Kadri requires surgery, he will miss the remainder of the playoffs, shutting him down for the season. This will be a huge blow to the Avalanche's cup hopes who if they make it by the Oilers will need all the depth they can get to match up with either the Lightning or Rangers.
