During last nights game between the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators, where Leon Draisaitl scored a hattrick to beat the Predators 4-0, a very controversial play happened and it will be interesting to see if any supplementary discipline comes from it.
McDavid had the puck along the boards and Predators Matt Benning came in for the hit, McDavid instead landed a counter hit on Benning but catching him up high in the face. This was of course an unintentional play as it does not appear McDavid was even looking, but the principle point of contact was the head, so by the rule, this should be deemed head contact and be reviewed by the league.
But the question now begs, will anything come from it because of McDavid's star level?
What do you think?
