Brendan Perlini has played 23 games this season for the Oilers, where he has accumulated 4 goals and 1 assist. Clearly these numbers are nothing to write home about and today the Oilers placed the forward on waivers to assign him to Bakersfield of the AHL. This wasn't an unexpected move, but apparently the Oilers forgot to let one person know.

One thing many teams put value in is being completely transparent with their players, especially when it comes to something like assigning them to the minors. A courtesy call is usually issued to the player or the agent to give them a heads up before the news breaks. Even last week Ryan Dzingel shared how much he appreciated Kyle Dubas' honesty when the Leafs acquired him via trade.
Apparently Ken Holland doesn't believe in the same transparency. Brendan Perlini's mother shared the following on Twitter after the new broke of her son's placement on waivers.
Pretty darn bad when the players has to find out from his mom off Twitter don't ya think!!!
Fans were quick to jump on the organization, who has been accused multiple times of mismanagement for their mishandling of this situation.
