John Tortorella has been one of the most successful coaches of all time, but also one of the most dramatic coaches. He is famous for his post-game interviews that sometimes last about 5 seconds long. He is a two-time Jack Adams winner, in 2003-04 with the Tampa Bay Lightning when they won the stanley cup, and in 2016-17 with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Since being fired from the Blue Jackets after the 2020-21 season, Tortorella has spent a bit of time as a broadcaster, but recently announced he wanted to get back into coaching and teams have been showing quite a bit of interest.
He is known for a hard coaching style, but if a player is hard working and is on his good side, they claim he is one of the best coaches you can ever have. But if you get on his bad side like Anthony Duclair or Pierre-Luc Dubois, things can get ugly quick.
This NHL insider made a post yesterday that sounds like Tortorella has found his new home.
The Philadelphia Flyers would actually be a decent fit for Torts. They are a team well mixed with veteran and young players who can play the game at both ends of the rink. It also helps that he is already familiar with Cam Atkinson who under Torts put up a 41 goal season.
