NHL Insider reveals why teams are scared to sign Sonny Milano
Back in 2014, the Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Sonny Milano 16th overall after lightning up the U.S. National Under-18 Team with 39 points in 25 games.
After a few seasons in the AHL the Columbus Blue Jackets eventually grew impatient with Milano's development and traded him to the Anaheim Ducks for Devin Shore.
This past season, Milano showed some very good chemistry with one of the leagues best up and coming players, Trevor Zegras, and the two of them brought us one of the prettiest goals of the year:
Still wondering how Zegras and Milano pulled this off 🤯 pic.twitter.com/ybBQi8V4E5— B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce) July 27, 2022
Milano had his best season of his career last season and is coming off a 2 year deal which paid him $1,700,000 AAV.
So putting up 14 goals and 34 points in 66 games, you'd think a lot of teams would be willing to take a chance on him, Right? Well, two months into free agency and he is still available and Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff believes he knows why:
Frank Seravalli said on Sportsnet 960 that teams have concerns about Sonny Milano's concussion history going forward, which is why he is still a free agent.
