The 2018 World Junior Team has been stuck in a waiting pattern for months. Each week there seems to be an announcement that a resolution is close to being announced. Today continues that trend with another update.
Timeline For Investigation Resolution Announced
Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly was interviewed recently by Michael Russo of The Athletic. He commented on the rumors going around about the 2018 Canadian World Junior Team.
"... The investigation needs to take the time it needs to take. We want to do a thorough job and have all the possible information. It's the right thing to do under the circumstances. I believe we should expect to unveil the investigation report very soon."
"Then, as for the aftermath, we are currently in the unknown. At the risk of sounding redundant, it's coming very soon." - Bill Daly
Playing The Waiting Game
As the NHL concludes their investigation fans and media are left waiting for answers. The announcement will likely come before the start of the regular season. Teams will want to know if their players have been implicated and are looking at a suspension.
The truth is coming soon and with it will come the repercussions of the actions taken by the players from the 2018 Canadian World Junior Team.
