Mike Babcock was fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 20th, 2019 and hasn't been behind an NHL bench since. After taking a job coaching University hockey, Babcock is reportedly looking to make a return and recently even interviewed for a Head Coaching job.

According to Rick Dhaliwal the Canucks spoke to many high profile candidates, including Mike Babcock before deciding to hire Rick Tocchet.

Barry Trotz is represented by the same agent as Bruce Boudreau, which likely contributed to his lack of interview.
